With origins dating back to 597AD, The King’s School, Canterbury is reputedly the oldest school in the world and is located in the idyllic surroundings of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and the city of Canterbury.
With multiple sites across Canterbury we combine history with contemporary facilities perfect for events, residential functions, filming, weddings and celebrations. Located within the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral, we offer an impressive 750 capacity auditorium, 100 seat lecture hall, dining and classroom facilities. There is also a 200 seat studio and 120 seat recital hall within a 2 minute walk. Our St Augustine’s site adjoins the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and housed within the Palace of Henry VIII we offer one of the oldest working Refectories in the country, beautiful grounds and accommodation facilities. Set in eight-acres of stunning countryside on the banks of the River Stour, located just 2 miles from the City of Canterbury, this beautiful, Junior King’s School location has a 16th century manor house and tithe barn. The Malthouse Campus is home to our newest boarding facility, The King’s School International College. Offering modern twin en-suite accommodation and facilities, this new college sits alongside our state of the art 380 capacity theatre housed within a Victorian Malthouse with additional dance and drama studios, recital rooms and dining facilities.
