Sherborne School is steeped in history, emerging in its current guise in 1850. However, boys were educated amid the hallowed walls as long ago as the 12th century and the School was originally re-founded in 1550.

Sherborne is a town with a character all of its own and Sherborne School sits in the heart of it. Whilst there is a reassuring sense of safety, there are still great transport links with London, Bristol and beyond.

There is a choice of historic venues available to host your event during the school holiday periods.
-The Old School Room, dating from 1606, is perfect for small private parties or dinners, seating a maximum of 50 people.
-The Big School Room, rebuilt following extensive bomb damage in World War II, can be used for conferences, music performances, drinks receptions and memorial teas. It can seat up to 580, theatre style, or can accommodate up to 350 people for a stand-up reception.
-The Dining Hall can seat approximately 240 people for dinners and wedding receptions. There are two annexes, which can be opened up and provide additional seating or reception space for up to 120 people.
-The Powell Theatre seats just over 200 people for dramatic performances, film screenings, or conference events.
-A purpose-built Music School, The Oliver Holt Gallery, the Sports Centre, various Sports Ground facilities and an onsite café called The Hub are all available to rent.

Eight boarding houses are spread throughout the town, so accommodation with or without catering is available during the Easter and Summer holiday periods.
The Catering team can provide an extensive choice of menus with beverages for formal dinners, wedding receptions, memorial teas, or simply a meeting. We do not permit external caterers to come onto site or provide self-catering facilities.
